Ill be in Ecuador April through the end of June. I have a friend who will be staying in Baños caring for a farm there, and have found TONS of awesome people through couchsurfing.org, I definitely recommend checking that out! How long will you be down there and where else are you planning on going to?
Ill be Quito the 15,16 and 17th for sure before i head out to hike and farm. If you'd like to meet up and explore my info is on my page. I have a few ideas on where to go but it is pretty open ended. Peace bro.
Hey Elliot, I will also be in Quito around the 20th of January, I'm taking classes there till mid-February. Let me know when you arrive and we can hang out and see some of the city or whatnot.
I'll be in Cahuasqui by the 20th, but certainly stay in contact. I'm not sure if I'll make it to the Ecuador coast, I would like to, but I think I'm just going to wait and see if that makes sense at some point. --J
Heyyy! I actually don't know a whole lot about the farms here in Ecuador, because both times I have been here I have been working at a small indigenous shcool in a village called Salasaca, which is between Banos and Ambato. However, there are sooooo many really awesome places to see here! I haven't spent much time on the coast, but I do know of some great places here in the Andes. Vilcabamba is one of my favorites, Banos is really fun too, and you should definitely check out Quilotoa for a really fun and beautiful hike. My other favorite place here is the Amazon. If you don't have the time to explore the Rio Napo, you should at least check out Puyo and possibly even go as far as Tena. I am going to be here pretty much until my visa runs out on the 25th of February, so if you want to meet up I would be more than happy to show you around. Don't be hesitant at all with any questions you might have about this country. I love Ecuador a lot and I love sharing my passion for this country with anyone who asks. Best wishes for your upcoming trip!
Hi Elliot, thanks for the message. I do plan to head to Ecuador at some point this year, though at this time I'm not exactly sure when. I will first be heading to Peru in early February to do a Permaculture Design Certification program in Iquitos and will probably spend a few months in Peru after that before I go to Ecuador. Do you have any plans to travel in Peru? Let me know if you do as I'm definitely interested in meeting/traveling with other travelers!
Hi Elliot, I am actually going to Ecuador on the 12th of January as well. I will also be in Quito for about a week then heading south to Peru. I have some volunteer work set up in Cuzco so I am trying to make it there from Quito, then I'll probably work my way north again over the next 5 months. My plans are pretty open and I thought about doing some wwoofing down there, but I haven't looked into it too much. Maybe we could meet up. Do you have any idea what you are wanting to do?
Hi there Elliot, I'm actually taking off for Ecuador on the 12th. I'll be in Quito for a few days and then I'm headed to Cahuasqui, which is a bit northwest of Ibarra. When are you thinking of going? I'll be around for awhile. I'm planning on wwoofing different places for the next 4 months, eventually making my way down to Lima Peru. Maybe we could meet up.
