What is your experience in Organic Farming?: I've grown up in rural South Dakota. Coming from the midwest, our main income is farming and ranching. Organic farming isn't as coming as non organic farming because the farmers do use chemicals to produce a higher yield. I've grown up outside of our small town of Pierre, South Dakota. my whole life I've been surrounded by farming, because my father works in that industry. My family owns a lot of farm land that i was familiar with, but the land i was most familiar with was the seventeen acres i grew up on. This is my only real experience with "semi-organic" farming. Coming from the prairie, a grass called Buffalo Grass is native here. The seventeen acres i grew up on my parents planted all in buffalo grass to harvest in the fall and promote it to the people of our community. We are in a fairly dry area so main people waste the water we do have watering their lawns, etc. Buffalo grass, however, does not need the irrigation required for the typical green grass lawns. I would help my mom and dad with this growing up. it's my only real experience in farming other then being completely surrounded by small farming communities.
