Hello,
I have been wwoofing for some time now in Europe and in Latin America, and I wanted to share with you some complaints and comments about how wwoofing is going on in the region, and more specially in Mexico.
We wanted to do some wwoofing these last months and from our interests and geographical possibilities we have contacted 3 farms in your country, of which we only got answer from one (Divertigranja in Oaxaca). Two other ones (Solferino in Quintana Roo and Finca Argovia in Chiapas) didn't ever answer, and in the case of Argovia we have contacted them two times and the second one with more than one month ahead of time. The thing is that we thought that one of the obligations of the farms was to answer the wwoofing petitions, and we were really disappointed.
On the other hand, we have also noticed (and not only in in Mexico, but also in Belize) that more and more farms are falling under the usual practice of asking wwoofers for money to "pay for their expenses", which in theory goes against wwofing principles, and that the working agreement and conditions in most of the cases are not clearly stated until the moment when one gets to the farm. So we suggest that farms could be more detailed in the conditions (type of work, hours of work per day and days of work per week) that they propose to the wwoofers.
And last but not least, we have also noticed that many farms that were supposed to be organic, were not so much organic in their day to day practices, which added to all the other points we exposed you before, disappointed us quite a lot about how wwoofing is going on here in Central America.
Thus, we hope that this complaint could serve to improve the movement more, and we wish you very good luck with that, and we are totally open to discuss more deeply these issues with you and help you in whatever you might need.
Thank you very much for your attention.

Sincerely.

David Díaz de Quijano i Barbero.

Not all of the countries are allowing me access to the lists. Is there some reason for this?
